Dead forest

Subject: Dead forest Mon Oct 24, 2011 5:56 pm

A section of the Abandoned Forest that had been burned down in a fire (due to villages) Dead trees and ash stretch on for miles in each direction.

I looked around. It was quiet. Too quiet. I swung my head around and looked for signs of life, but saw none. Oh well. I walked along, my hoof prints sinking softly into the ash.

I galloped through the forest, not really sure where I was going.

The wind in my face woke me up. "Greyson! Where are we going?!" I exclaimed grabbing onto his neck so I wouldn't fall off.

I follow after them. The girl had woken up. There was blood on her shirt, so I hesitated but continued on

"Greyson, who is that behind us?" I asked glancing back. He snorted like he didn't know.

I flicked aside my mane revealing my electric blue eyes.

I see a bright blue through the dark night. Strange, I thought. I started moving towards it, not making a sound.

I stopped and snorted a bit, showing how irratated I was at Rose

"It's a horse with no rider..." I said

I stopped and looked at them. A horse with a rider, obviously not very experienced. I nickered a greeting from afar.

I hear a sound and continue ghosting through the brush towards it.

I walk over and instantly see a horse with no rider. "Perfect," I say, feeling like such a stalker. I duck behind a tree and whip out my notebook, grabbing my pencil and starting to sketch.

I stand there still. "Hello?" I say. The horse should understand me.

I hear a rustling in the bushes and step silently into the open. I felt slightly transparent, probably because I was, and stepped over to the sound.

"Well, because I thought you were like..." I paused for a second. "A demon. It's my job to chase away demons. At least, that's what I do."

I heard that and stopped. Well, all in truth I wasn't a demon. Just a spirit. But my reputation was too deep, and all who saw me recognized me as a demon. I pondered turning back, but then realized that this horse couldn't hurt me. After all, what is there to fear when you're dead?

I hold my breath as one of the horses shifts, then turn back around and start sketching furiously, my hands working like flame over the paper. Just a rough sketch, that's all I need...

I lean over the bush and peered down. I wished that I didn't have so many scars from when I died, then maybe people wouldn't be so afraid of me

I take one look at the horse and freak out. I spaz and flail and kick and scream before rolling out of the bush and breaking out in a sprint, arms flailing behind me and screaming at the top of my lungs.

I canter over only to see Flora screaming and running and running and screaming. I glance back over my shoulder, then just shake my head and keep walking, heading.... wherever.

I jerk back as the girl suddenly throws her hands in the air and screams. In all truth, I was a gruesome sight. I sighed and looked towards where she ran, debating if I wanted to follow her.

"Just ignore her," I say, passing by the demon horse thing. "She's a spaz like that."

I snort and shake my head. "Yeah. You're not quite hard to miss, you know." I glance him over. "What happened to you?" I ask out loud, not really caring that it's rude.

I cough a little. "Stuff. Are you SURE you haven't mistaken me for someone--" I was about to say 'alive' but held my tongue. "...Else?" I finished.

"Well, no..." I said lightly. Man, this horse was quite oblivious. I cough. "It's just that...most horses don't like to converse with me. Usually they run away like that girl just did." I tried to say it tactfully, but I probably failed.

I crash through the trees on the outskirts of the forest. "WOW!" I shout. "THAT WAS AWESOME!"

"Because you're ugly?" I ask. "Oops. Sorry. I didn't mean that. It's just... you're interesting looking. What on earth happened?"

I rolled my eyes. "I got killed. In the Forest of Thanatos. Need any more explanation?" I snapped. Then I pricked my ears up as I heard some horse shouting and tree branches snapping.

"ANYONE OUT HERE?" I ask while ruffling my white, feathery wings that were now covered with sap.
